Followers of The Beta videos may remember Paul Fuelling from the very first installment, “The Beta – Controller” which I shot in winter of 2009.
Paul talked about how he was building out a house with his wife Kim, also a climber, in the mountains near Boone, NC.
For Beta #6 we return to Paul and Kim’s awesome house, now pretty much finished. It is unreal what they have done with such a small space, what was basically a blown out cinderblock woodshop. Wish I had skills like that!
Kim also gives us a tour of two Hound Ears classics, a beautiful tall arete called The High Life (V3) and a low, brutal crimpfest on perfect granite called Tommy the Cat (V4). I shot the climbing footage on the Nikon D3s, on a Redrock shoulder mount and follow-focus. Makes a huge difference for smooth motion.
