Teri Hofford on Reshaping Boudoir

I came across Teri Hofford’s work on Adobe’s 2024 Creative Trends blog. I was struck by the joy and beauty of her portrait and boudoir work and pleasantly surprised to see her beautifully produced, body-focused photography front-and-center in Adobe’s stock collection which you can see here.

As a Creative Director with Outdoor Retailer we produced a few stories on body-inclusive and plus-size outerwear. Product sourcing was always a challenge, and I will also say that our (my) photography was always primarily about the product, not the body, which leaves things a little one-dimensional.

There are plenty of good boudoir photographers with the requisite comfort level for body-focused photography, but it’s rare to find one with Hofford’s understanding and appreciation for the wide range human form. She also has some great insights for photographers struggling to find success in work that they care about. I’ll let her talk now!
